B&K Custom Metal Fabrication
State-of-the-Art Capabilities…

Our metal fabrication and machine shop credentials were rapidly established by our successful greenhouse projects.

B&K has...

  • State-of-the-art metal fabrication and machine shop capabilities. We manufacture, repair or reproduce components for machinery, equipment, obsolete parts or structures.
  • Computerized numerical controlled machinery including robotic welding, a 6 x 20-foot computerized plasma burning centeras well as a full complement of conventional equipment.

B&K can...

  • Fabricate, machine and weld steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper and plastics. And, we can shear, burn, saw, bend, form, roll, punch, lathe turn, mill and grind.

No matter how demanding, we’ve always fulfilled
our promise: On time and within budget.

As a result, clients have awarded B&K a wide range of metal fabrication challenges. They range from product prototypes to ship’s bow thrusters, oxygenation tanks, special pipes for a nulear installation and a pile bed forms 245 feet long! Please scroll down.

Barge Bow Thruster

B&K builds 60 Barge Bow Thrusters
for the Suez Canal!

The Suez Canal is a single lane canal just slightly over 120 miles long. The average crossing time: 14 hours. Navigation is 24/7. Speed limit: 6 to 9 mph. Ships transit the Suez Canal in convoys, limited to three convoys daily. Navigation of any type vessel is difficult, barges the most difficult! However, Barge Bow Thrusters resolved the problem by providing precise navigation for barges transiting the Canal.

Ship's Bow Thruster

Bow thrusters are a propulsion device used world-wide!
They are built into, or mounted to, the bow of
a ship or boat to enhance its maneuverability.
Bow thrusters make docking easier!
They allow the Captain to turn the vessel
to port or starboard without using the
main propulsion mechanism, which
requires some forward motion for turning.

Oxygenation Tank

Consumption of fish from fish farms is growing rapidly! Oxygen, feed and water are three key parameters in aquaculture. The availability of O2 in water has a direct effect on fish farm performance. Trends towards high fish densities mean adequate concentrations of dissolved O2 are necessary. They offset natural decreases of oxygen in water. The control of O2 is one of the keys to success in any aquaculture business.

 Nuclear Power Plant

Pipes play an integral part in creating nuclear energy.

A typical nuclear reactor has few main parts. Inside the "core" where the nuclear reactions take place are the fuel rods and assemblies, the control rods, the moderator, and the coolant. Outside the core are the turbines, the heat exchanger, and part of the cooling system - Specially designed pipes produced by B&K  help connect the entire process.

Punch a Bridge Foundation

Crystallized coral rock became a major barrier when building the new Jew Fish Creek bridge in Key Largo, part of the Florida Keys. Normal tools couldn't cut through! B&K created and built this Rock Punch that did the job!

Trikes: Springer Front Ends

B&K was asked: "Can you improve the quality and manufacturing technique of Springer Front Ends?"

We said: Sure we can!  Here's what it looks like...

Pump Bonnet

The B&K Pump Bonnet prototype effectively deflects pump water during the control of water levels. It was designed and built by B&K for use in the Florida Everglades water management program.
